Nurse’s Notes

Your students are truly missed, and I long to work with servicing them soon. You are remarkable parents/guardians, who  have been truly blessed with raising and nurturing such dynamic students. I hope this message finds you safe and well. I am reaching out to you regarding a few things. Please remember to stay in contact with your child’s doctor for wellness check ups and  sick visits. Children should be visiting their doctor yearly for a physical exam and have a dental exam every 6 months. Disease prevention and management increases the chances for a long and healthy life. Maintain a current prescription of your child’s medication with your pharmacy, so that you can avoid running out of their medication.

Practice good hand hygiene, cover your cough and continue to follow the CDC guidelines regarding effective ways for decreasing the spread of the Coronavirus. Remember the importance of good physical and mental health practices, by exercising daily, reading a good book,  and spending quality time with loved ones.

If you have not done so already, please submit the physical exam report for your 6th and/or 11th grade student and a dental exam report for your 7th grade student. All documents can be sent to ljemiri@philasd.org. In addition, please be on the lookout for future communication regarding end of the year school health letters for the upcoming school year 2020-2021. These letters will include medication administration during school hours, physical exam requirements for all new students to GAMP as well as ALL 6th  and 11th graders, immunization requirements for all students as well as additional vaccine requirements for 7th and 12th graders, and dental requirements for 7th graders. Please feel free to contact me, should you have any questions or concerns via email at ljemiri@philasd.org.

Warm regards,
Latoya Jemiri, GAMP School Nurse
