Music Lesson & Ensemble Expectations

Students who audition for GAMP on a musical instrument will be automatically enrolled in the appropriate ensemble, and are expected to participate.  In some cases, students may have the opportunity to audition or request to move to more advanced ensembles, at the discretion of the ensemble director.  Students that participate in an instrumental ensemble are expected to be at all scheduled rehearsals and their scheduled lesson times.

Students selected for advanced or select ensembles (ex: Concert Choir, Chamber Strings) who fail to meet the expectations of that ensemble may be removed from the ensemble, at the discretion of the ensemble director.  Some reasons include, but are not limited to, poor attendance, undesirable behavior, and/or a frequent lack of preparation.

Students are scheduled for pull-out small group instrumental lessons by the music staff.  Students receive a grade for lessons and are expected to attend.  If there is an emergency or test in your academic class, the lesson can be made up at a later time. This must be communicated with your lesson teacher. You are required to make-up that lesson.  Due to servicing such a large population of students, missing lessons is strongly discouraged.  Communication is key. If you are having an issue with your lesson time, please contact Mr. Holcomb or Mrs. Rimando-Jackson.
